Welcome to Selma's Historic Pilgrimage 2008!  

Take a moment to step outside your normal routine and visit us as we take you on a tour of some of Selma's Historic Homes and Locales.  Enjoy the adventure as we transport you back and forth through our city's history.

Buy your Pilgrimage tickets here and visit the new third floor Hospital  Exhibit, as well as, the local political Museum on the second floor and don't miss the exhibit of posters and array of documents related to slavery on the first floor.

Thomas Helm Lee designed this Greek revival Mansion.  It is beautifully restored and is known as one of the finest houses in the Southeast.  Sturdivant Hall is a must see for anyone visiting Selma..

Visit the Foundry and hear the sounds of the Jeff Davis Artillery as they present a live fire exhibit of a Brooke Cannon.  The cannon was cast at the Official Confederate States Foundry in Selma.  Period Tools will be on display alongside the Foundry's own array of historic machinery.

CORN GRINDING DEMONSTRATIONS SATURDAY
 

The tranquil sounds of the falls at Kenan's Mill were interrupted violently in the spring of 1865 as Union and Confederate Troops skirmished about the property.  Don't miss a chance to see the Mill in action, grinding corn.

         

On this site a five Historic Structures which the Selma-Dallas County Historic Society has saved by moving them to a secure location, Heritage Village.  Glimpse the past with displays of 19th Century medical equipment and furniture.

 
                   

The Old Depot Museum offers a window into Selma's rich past.  Journey from the town's founding in 1820, through the Industrial Revolution and past the Civil Rights movement in 1965.  Known as the L&N Railroad Station the Old Depot served the people of Selma for manners years before becoming a Museum.

Twilight is a special time when the residents of Old Live Oak Cemetery come alive and visit with those brave enough to meet them. Selma's own Encore Troupe brings to life the inhabitants of the Cemetery.
