Historic Plaque Presentation and Unveiling: Pilgrimage 2004

Lafayette Park provides the backdrop to the spot of Selma's first turn style bridge across the Alabama River.  In an effort to commemorate the location, the SDCHPS has financed a project to erect a Historic Plaque which would describe in type as well as picture the old Turn Style Bridge.  The Historic Plaque is to be mounted on an antique Lamp Post taken from the current Edmund Pettus Bridge.  Please join us for the unveiling of the Plaque during Pilgrimage.
